Itinerary
Day 1, Madrid airport
On day 1 you arrive in Madrid. We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your hotel so you can un-pack, rest, relax and aclimatize a bit.
Day 2, Madrid
Today you receive your motorcycle. We'll give you some time to "fiddle" with it to make sure all is to your liking and all your luggage fits in the panniers.
In the afternoon there will be a briefing in which we tell you everything you need to know about the tour, the roads, the customs, etc. We give you the SatNav and show you how to use it.
Day 3, Valladolid
180 miles / 290 km (5 hours)
On this first day on your motorcycle, you leave Madrid and head towards the north-west. Passing Segovia you can see the Aquaduct and the castle. Then onwards to Valladolid. Somewhere halfway, in Wamba, you can visit a church that has collected thousands of bones and skulls as a weird form of art.
Day 4, Orellan
174 miles / 280 km (4 hours)
Time for some curvy mountain roads. Countless hairpin-curves bring you to Las Medulas. You can spend the night near an amazing viewpoint which is best to see early in the morning.
Day 5, Praia das Catedrais
152 miles / 245 km (3½ hours)
After a short ride to the viewpoint and soaking up sun and view, it is time to move on riding curve after curve until you leave the mountains behind you and make your way to the Atlantic coast. Again you spend the night close to todays destination: Cathedral Beach, a mind-blowing beach with massive rock-pillars.
Day 6, Ribadesella
165 miles / 265 km (4 hours)
You have most likely spend a few hours at Cathedral Beach, and now it is time to follow the rugged Atlantic coastline. And rugged means... curves, views and more curves, alternated with pretty fishing villages and secluded beaches. At the end of the day you arrive in a tiny "fishing village gone beach resort".
Day 7, Castro Urdiales
227 miles / 365 km (5 hours)
First you leave the coast and ride into the mountains of Picos de Europa. After soaking in these spectacular mountain views you return to the coast and head for Castro Urdiales which finds its origin in roman times.
Day 8, Zugarramurdi
171 miles / 275 km (4 hours)
The day starts with a visit to Gaztelugatxe, one of the most spectacular walkways in the world to get to "Castle Dragon-stone" from "Game of Thrones".
After this, follow the coast until, right before the French border, the route turns east towards "The Witches of Zugarramurdi".
Day 9, Artieda
205 miles / 330 km (5 hours)
The route starts to go south now, and witches are traded for gigantic skulls in "the forest of the sleepless". To stay in this mystical mood, the next stop is at Esco, an eerie ghost town.
Day 10, Monistrol de Montserrat
233 miles / 375 km (5½ hours)
A bit more distance today as you ride through mountains, past lakes, along hills until you arrive at the incredibly picturesque Montserrat.
Day 11, Barcelona
68 miles / 110 km (2½ hours)
On the way to the coast you pass the "Enchanted forest of Orrius" where you can stretch your legs amid strange sculptures that are sprawling here. Then on to Barcelona with its mind blowing Sagrada Familia Cathedral.
Day 12, Alcaniz
183 miles / 295 km (4½ hours)
Leaving Barcelona following the coast south you can have a look at the Bodega Guell, designed by Gaudi. Followed up with a view of the Devil's aquaduct and marvel at a village build into massive rock-crevices.
Day 13, Madrid
255 miles / 410 km (5½ hours)
On this last day of riding the route takes you back to Madrid, the place it all started almost 2 weeks ago. It passes Molina de Aragon and its medieval castle, crosses the Alto Tajo Natural park and the Civica cave houses. There is also a D-tour to the Castle of Zafra, a filming location of Game of Thrones.
Day 14, Madrid airport
Today we take you to the airport, help you find the right checkin-desk and say goodbye, untill next time.
