In this list of Frequently Asked Questions you can find most of the answers you are looking for. If your question is not listed, please do not hesitate to contact us and ask.
Q: Do I have to bring a motorcycle?
A: No. We will provide you with a motorcycle. You can choose the make and model you prefer in our list of motorcycles and tell us in the contact-form. Of course, if you want, you can bring your own motorcycle. In that case we will discount the cost of the motorcycle.
Q: Do I have to bring my own bike-gear?
A: Yes. You have to bring a helmet. Wearing a helmet is obligated. We strongly advise you to also bring (and wear) gloves, jacket, pants (or suit) and boots, but this is ultimately your decision.
Q: Do I need a motorcycle driving license?
A: Yes. You must have an "A" driving license, which is a license to ride a "heavy" motorcycle. In fact, you must have had this license for a minimum of 3 years. It is not us, but the insurance company who demands this.
You must also bring an "International Driving Permit", which you can easily get at any AAA office upon showing your driving license.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit for the motorcycle?
A: In short: Yes. The hight of the deposit is equal to the deductible you have choosen for the damage insurance. The maximum deposit is 2,000 euro and the minimum is 500 euro. On some tours (Andalusia, Green North and Mountains & Coastlines) you can even choose to have no deductible, so no deposit.
Q: Can I leave my excess luggage in a safe place?
A: Yes. You can store your excess luggage with us, free of charge. All we ask is that it is properly packed in a suitcase or a (duffel)bag.
Q: How will I find hotels or camp-sites?
A: All "overnight stays" (hotels or camp-sites) are stored in the GPS SatNav you get from us.
If you follow the route-directions from the SatNav, it will lead you to the front-door of your hotel or campsite.
The address and contact info of each hotel or campsite is also listed in your “road book”.
Q: What if I can not book a flight for the date the tour starts?
A: If you can not book your flight for the correct date, then first contact us (ASAP) to see if the tour-date can be adjusted. In that case we’ll give you new start and end dates. If changing the dates is not possible (if it is a group tour for example) you have to book your flight for an earlier date and we’ll make the necessary hotel reservations for you.
Q: If I choose for camping instead of hotels, do I have to bring a tent etc?
A: Yes. If you choose to go camping instead of staying in hotels, you will have to bring your own camping gear. Keep in mind that this also takes up lugage space on the motorcycle.
Q: Why is the price lower if there are two or more people in the tour?
A: Hotel prices in Europe are mostly per room and not per person. So, when there are two people on the tour, they share the hotel room and thus the hotel cost per person is only half.
When there are three people on the tour, we book two rooms and when booking two rooms we can usually get a better price.
Q: Can I book the tour without the hotels so I can choose my own and book them as I go?
A: Yes. We are flexible and you can chery-pick which parts of the tour-package you want, and which parts you do not want. We will adjust the price acordingly. However, do keep in mind that the route-description still starts and ends at the hotels we selected.
